Reardens Bar has an instant lived in feel, similar to an Old Irish Bar. Its design is understated but very original. It is full of salvaged furniture items including an old theatre pay kiosk. The bar is full of antique light fittings, with cosy mismatching fabric shades on the wall lights, and beautiful detailed pendent lights hanging from the ceilings.
Reardens has a strong focus on GAA & Rugby and a lot of time and effort has gone into sourcing old GAA and Rugby match programmes and tickets. There is a feature wall displaying carefully sourced hurleys- each with their own story. There are a few quirky features around the bar including a wall display of famous saints each lit by its own 'sacred heart' lamp.
This very eclectic and traditional bar is also full of quirky corners and seating areas- everyone has their favorite corner or spot in Reardens Bar.
Reardens is a late bar every night

Since it's humble beginnings in 1971 from a basement in King's Terrace next to St. Patricks church in Cork City, Maher Sports Ltd has blossomed into one of Munster's largest sports retailers. Tommy, Dick and Yvonne Maher remain at the helm as they were back then, ensuring a consistency of service and product quality. Tommy had been on the professional golf circuit, and it was as a golf outlet that the company took it's first steps. From there it spread to a general sports outlet in Oliver Plunkett Street before spreading to North Main Street, Penrose Quay, where the golf shop now trades and Killarney, Co. Kerry. The Oliver Plunkett Street branch itself, has continued to grow and change since we first moved in and currently trades from an impressive 21,000 sq ft which makes it the largest sports retail unit of it's kind in Ireland. In this unit alone are housed all the essentials for the sports enthusiast, some of which are featured on our website. Forty years on, the same sound trading principles on which the company was founded are still evident and the traditions are carried on by a staff that are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.
