2-0 victory at Llandudno seals league crown.

Huge congratulations goes to the Under 14 girls at Corwen FC, who were recently crowned North Wales Girls Champions after a 2-0 win over rivals Caernarfon, in a league title play off at Llandudno.

In a totally dominant display the girls controlled the game from start to finish to clinch the title. In the opening exchanges Corwen went on the front foot, taking the game to the opposition with wave after wave of attacks.

The Corwen side were in control throughout the half and it was on the stroke of half time that the opening goal came. In a rare Caernarfon attack Corwen keeper Catrin Jones was faced into making a fine save, which was cleared by the defence to Mali Jones, who used her blistering pace to burst from the edge of her own box deep into the Caernarfon half and thread a perfect pass onto Elisa Williams, who ran onto the perfect ball to finish with deadly precision to take the girls in at half time 1-0 up.

The second half was a repeat of the first, as Corwen once again started quickly, only this time finding the net after 5 minutes of the restart to double their lead. Some fine interlink passing down the left hand side saw the ball crossed into the box, were Seren Williams was ready to pounce from six yards to put daylight between the teams.

From here on in the classy Corwen side stamped their authority on the game and passed the ball around with style to frustrate their opposition, who just couldn't get to grips with the pace the girls were setting. The final whistle went to seal this wonderful victory and it was party time for all the parents and supporters.

It would be difficult to single one player out from this display, as on the day everyone in red won their personal battles to make this a one sided affair.

Congratulations to all the girls on this wonderful title winning season.
