Luck not with the girls so far this season.

Corwen Under 14 girls have now played 3 games in this seasons North Wales girls football league and the Footballing Gods have certainly not been shining down onto the girls.

First game of the season saw them kick off with local friends and rivals Brickfield Rangers. An entertaining game with fine football on show from both sides but a host of chances came and went and the writing was on the wall when Brickfield scored on the stroke of half time.

The game ended with a Brickfield running out 1-0 winners when a draw was the least the girls deserved.

Next up was a home game against title favourites Prestatyn and yet again luck was to desert the home side, as Prestatyn ended up winning the game 5-4.

The home side could and should of wrapped the tie up, but some sloppy goal keeping at one end and finishing the other let Prestatyn off the hook and saw the Seasiders take the points.

The girl’s third game saw them travel to Northop Hall and yes lightning was to strike for a third time.

The Corwen girls played with style at times and created a whole host of chances and penned the home side for long periods of the game, but yet again a loss in concentration saw Northop strike twice with the only two times they threatened the Corwen goal and run out 2-0 winners.

The girls are working hard in training and they all know the score lines so far do not reflect the way they have played.
Next up for the Corwen girls is home games against Caernarfon were they will be trying to turn the luck their way.
