Callum Craig answered a couple of questions about the season just gone.

Q. Now the league season has finished, and Coventrians finished in 4th place. How well did you think the season went?

CC. Losing out on promotion by 2 points is disappointing. The words “what if” are haunting the squad at the moment.

Going forward next season strengthens the 2nd XV has to be the major priority. There are some good talented lads there that need regular game time to improve, which In turn increases the selection pool for the 1st XV.

Q. With a load of new faces joining the squad this season. The future is bright for the Blue family. Is it not?

CC. We can see first-hand from Stoke Old Boys what recruitment can do. Only 2 new signings have made major impacts on the 1st XV squad. James Gittens and Sam Forsyth have both impressed, playing for the first XV on a number of occasions. More lads strengthen the club. And with competition for players every signing is crucial. Going back to the question though, the future is bright but not shining we need more new blood to get this club where it belongs.

Q. How proud are you to captain this side and lead this great bunch of lads in to battle?

CC. It’s been a honor to captain this side in some games this season, since Carl Thornton sadly retired. And if I am lucky enough to be selected to Captain next season I aim to lead these boys out of this league.
