PREVIEW: On Tuesday night, Coventry Sphinx and Chelmsley Town meet in the Quarter Final of the League Cup at Sphinx Drive. The tie will be concluded on the night and a Semi-Final place awaits the winner.

COVENTRY SPHINX: After a good run of form, Coventry Sphinx established themselves in the top 6 of the MFL Premier Division but since the turn of the year they have only played two fixtures due to a combination of no scheduled matches and the weather. Both those matches ended in defeat and last Saturday they were due to play at Worcester until the weather intervened once again. A friendly at Coleshill was swiftly organised to provide important game time and a good performance ended in a 4-1 win for Coventry Sphinx. Coventry Sphinx progressed to the Quarter Finals after home wins against Leicester Road and Coventry Utd.

THE OPPOSITION: Chelmsley Town are currently mid-table in Division 1 of the MFL. They have a decent record in cup competitions and recently won 5-3 at Hinckley in a league fixture. To get to this stage, Chelmsley have beaten fellow division 1 clubs Paget Rangers and Cadbury Athletic and then knocked out Premier Division Boldmere St Michaels.

ADMISSION: Adults £6, Over 65s £5 and Under 16’s FREE (I.D may be required).

BAR FACILITIES: Our clubhouse is located adjacent to the car park before you pass through the turnstiles and here you will find a well-stocked bar showing live sport with an outdoor seating area. Our clubhouse also houses the toilet facilities which can be found on your right as soon as you enter the building through the main entrance. Sky Sports will be on in the bar before and after the game.

The bar has a wide selection of drinks on tap and they include Carling (£3.20), Coors Light (£3.20), Worthington (£3.10), Strongbow (£3.50) and Guinness (£3.60).

FOOD: Hot food, Snacks and hot drinks will be available pitch side from “The Cabin”

TRAVEL: Coventry train station is a short taxi journey away or a 30 minute walk. Any bus service from the city centre that uses the Binley Road will also take you to Sphinx Drive. Get off the bus

opposite the Bulls Head Pub, cross the Binley Road and walk down Bulls Head Lane at the side of the pub. Then turn right just after the New Inn Pub to continue on Bulls Head Lane. Take the second left into Siddeley Avenue and after 50 yards turn left into Sphinx Drive which will take you up to our ground.

PARKING: We offer FREE parking at Sphinx Drive but please follow the instructions of the car park attendants and arrive in good time to ensure you get a space. On street parking is available locally but please park considerately to our neighbours.
