PREVIEW: Hinckley based Leicester Road will visit Coventry Sphinx on Tuesday evening for a League Cup tie that will be settled on the night. If the scores are level after 90 minutes then we will move straight on to a penalty shoot out to decide the winner of the tie. Leicester Road are a division below Coventry Sphinx but they are expected to provide tough opposition in this League Cup encounter.
COVENTRY SPHINX: Sphinx have started their league season well and currently sit in 4th place of the Premier Division. Last time out they picked up a point at the then league leaders Westfields. That followed a comfortable 3-0 win at home against Loughborough University. Coventry Sphinx have exited both major cup competitions at the first time of asking this season with Whitchurch Alport winning 1-0 at Sphinx Drive in the FA Cup and Sporting Khalsa overcoming Sphinx after a replay in the FA Vase.
THE OPPOSITION: Leicester Road usually find themselves at the top end of MFL Division 1 but they made a slow start to their season with one win from their first five league games. Their form has picked up recently with two big league wins lifting them to 13th. A 6-2 away win at Cadbury was followed up by a 5-0 victory over Littleton. Matt Langham has been the chief goal scorer so far with 9 goals in 9 games including 6 goals in his last two matches.
ADMISSION: Adults £6, Under 16’s FREE (I.D may be required).
BAR FACILITIES: Our clubhouse is located adjacent to the car park before you pass through the turnstiles and here you will find a well-stocked bar showing live sport with an outdoor seating area. Our clubhouse also houses the toilet facilities which can be found on your right as soon as you enter the building through the main entrance.
FOOD: Snacks and drinks will be available pitch side from The Cabin

TRAVEL: Coventry train station is a short taxi journey away or a 30 minute walk. Any bus service from the city centre that uses the Binley Road will also take you to Sphinx Drive. Get off the bus opposite the Bulls Head Pub, cross the Binley Road and walk down Bulls Head Lane at the side of the pub. Then turn right just after the New Inn Pub to continue on Bulls Head Lane. Take the second left into Siddeley Avenue and after 50 yards turn left into Sphinx Drive which will take you up to our ground.
PARKING: We offer FREE parking at Sphinx Drive but please follow the instructions of the car park attendants and arrive in good time to ensure you get a space. On street parking is available locally but please park considerately to our neighbours.
