PREVIEW: Coventry Sphinx have their third consecutive away game on Saturday and they’ll be heading to Worcestershire for a league fixture against Stourport Swifts. The ground is one of the most picturesque in the league and is very close to the town centre on the banks of the River Severn.
COVENTRY SPHINX: Sphinx travel with three consecutive wins behind them. Their last two wins have both been 1-0 away wins and last time out they got a dramatic winner in the 90th minute. That followed a 1-0 win at Romulus with Joel Grandison on target for Sphinx that night. Their last home game was a 5-2 win against Long Eaton Utd with Ryan Harkin getting himself a hat-trick.
THE OPPOSITION: Stourport are currently 14th in the MFL Premier Division and are unbeaten in their last three league matches. Last time out they exited the FA Vase at Walshes Meadow when they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Division 1 club NKF Burbage. Their last three league games have included draws at AFC Wulfrunians and Quorn and a 2-0 home win against Lye Town. Their home record also includes wins against Loughborough University (3-0) and South Normanton (1-0). Home defeats have come against Wolverhampton SC (1-2) and Shepshed Dynamo (1-5).
