3 points in the bag

The first local derby of the season went well for the lads as we took the 3 points against Pentraeth.

Pentraeth are always a tough side to play against but to be fair to our lads we managed the game well on Tuesday with some neat football being played at times. Berffro started the brightest creating some early half chances. It was on 20 minutes that Berffro took the lead when Nathan Moore was on hand to score from inside the 18 yard box with a cool finish. To their credit Pentraeth finished the half the brightest but our defence stood strong.

The second half and Berffro started well and sensed there was an opportunity for more goals. An excellent team move around the hour mark finished by Richard Roberts knocked the stuffing from Pentraeth. It was their number 2 keeper who was in inspiring form in the last 20 minutes as he made a few good saves to keep the score down. Pentraeth kept battling for every ball but Berffro stood firm to win 2:0.

For Berffro it was important to get the points on the board as we have been known as slow starters. This will give us a boost before the next game and nice to keep a clean sheet so early in the season.
