Glan battle their way to an impressive away win !

It was a game that was billed as one of the fixtures of the week and it didn't disappoint! CPD Glantraeth got the match underway at Cae'r Delyn and from the first whistle they knew it was going to be a tense game. Nefyn started the game with intensity and forced some early chances from set pieces which were well dealt with by the CPD Glantraeth back 3. After, the frantic start CPD Glantraeth were able to break down the right hand side through Dion Williams who pass was struck over by Andy Clarke after 7 minutes. The home side saw a lot of the ball over the following quarter of an hour with a few long range efforts which didn't trouble keeper Rhys Roberts. On the 23rd minute CPD Glantraeth were forced into their first change with Tim Evans landing awkward on his ankle being replaced by Robbie Jones. The first half continued in with both sides having the ball but neither side able to fashion a clear goal scoring opportunity and were limited to long range efforts. Just as the half was coming to a close a long ball from the Nefyn Centre back found its way into the striker who was able to hold off defender Dylan Hughes and fire past Rhys Roberts, 1-0 Nefyn 39 minutes. As half time came CPD Glantraeth were disappointed to be a goal down but felt their was still something in the game for them in the second half. At half time the management were forced into their second substitution of the game with Tom Hadley replacing the injured Tim Cavanagh.
Nefyn got the second half underway but it was CPD Glantraeth who started the half more brightly with some positive play down the left hand side which resulted in a corner. CPD Glantraeth up the pace of the game and Andy Clarke's 25 yard top corner bound shot was tipped just past the post by the full stretch Nefyn goalkeeper. Nefyn rode the initial storm and forced a corner of their own. The ball was swung into the box and was poked towards goal only for it to be cleared off the line by Dylan Hughes to keep CPD Glantraeth level. With the CPD Glantraeth midfield beginning to get on the ball they were able to find the feet of striker Tom Hadley to started a love passage of play resulting in a Bryn Roberts backheel into the path of Andy Clarke who smashed the ball into the bottom corner on the 54th minute, CPD Glantraeth 2 Nefyn 1. Nefyn came again with a tidy move which resulted in defender Robbie Jones committing a professional foul and breaking up a promising attack resulting in a yellow card. CPD Glantraeth continued to create chances with Nick Clark overhead kick going just over and a stinging long range effort from Bryn Roberts been well saved by the keeper. The close the second half saw both sides continue to look for goals with Nefyn creating chances which were wasted. 81 minutes Dylan Hughes made way for the returning Ben Roberts after a spell on the sideline due to injury. Nefyn pressed hard for the equaliser they believed they deserved from the game and in the last minute Rhys Roberts made a superb save low to his left hand side to keep CPD Glantraeth in it. With 5 minutes added by the referee the game was still in the balance until a late break from CPD Glantraeth saw a long pass into Andy Clark be intercepted by the defender who struck the ball into the roof of his net from 20 yards in the 94th minute, CPD Glantraeth 3 Nefyn United 1.
