Llangoed 4 v 1 Mynydd Reserves
This Tuesday night Mynydd reserves travelled to llangoed. With some vital players including Ben Jones, David Hayes and Lewis Hall unavailable we knew this was going to be a tough test. The first half started with Mynydd being penned back by an attacking llangoed team. And after 10 minutes llangoed found the net with a lobbed effort over the makeshift keeper Mathew Williams. As a team Mynydd werent knocking the ball around well or findings feet often. On the half an hour mark Mynydd started to play some good football in patches with Richard Hayes and Liam Owen both testing the opposition keeper.
Half time 1-0
The second half began with Mynydd showing some of the heart and dedication from the first game of the season. And after 55 equalised through debutant Richard Hayes. This was exactly what the team needed but almost straight from kick off llangoed were back I'm front thanks to a short free kick catching Mynydd off guard, 2-1 llangoed after 60 minutes.
This seemd to wake Mynydd up as Liam Owen was tearing the defence apart it was only a matter of time before someone put a foot wrong. This resulted in a penalty for Mynydd, up stepped Richard Hayes only to blaze over the bar. This seemed to be the turning point as llangoed pulled the pressure on with two quick goal.
Final score Llangoed 4 v 1 Mynydd reserves
All the best to llangoed for the season.
Overall the performance today wasn't good enough from the team. We move on to Saturday as we travel to Bryngwran Bulls. Three points is very much needed!
