Bryngwran 4 v 3 Mynydd Reserves
The reserves travelled to Bryngwran on Saturday on a wet and windy afternoon on Anglesey. Mynydd took the lead not long after ko with a cool finish from striker Alwyn Roberts to make it 1-0. Mynydd were hoping that this was going to lead to that win that they so desperately needed after playing some good football in previous games but Bryngwran had other ideas. It wasnt long before a ball over the top found their striker and he buried it in the back of the net to make it 1-1. The stage was set for a close encounter until the ball dropped to a Bryngwran player on the edge of the box and he unleashed a quality volley which dipped under the crossbar to make it 2-1 at half time.
Mynydd were eager to get something from this and upped their game in the second half and it wasn't long before some good play down the flank led to a cross being met with a good volley from Lewis hall to make it 2-2. However, Bryngwran had other ideas and managed to take the lead again with 2 goals in quick succession to make it 4-2. Mynydd came out fighting again and would not go down without a fight ,this led to a penalty which was converted by debutant David Hayes and the game was now 4-3 with 5 minutes remaining. With all the effort from the lads we just knew it wasn't going to be our day and Bryngwran held on to ground out a well contested match.
All the best to bryngwran for the rest of the season.
A much improved performance by the team today, but the result didn't go our way. On to the next game against local rivals bethesda reserves at bethesda on Wednesday night.
