Bethesda reserves 0 v 4 Mynydd Reserves
The reserves didn't have far to travel on a sunny evening as they were welcomed by Bethesda reserves for this much anticipated local derby. As the game kicked off it was clear a there were nerves for both sides as both failed to get the ball down and play. As mynydd settled Into the game you could see flashes of what they had to offer ,with pace upfront and 2 dangerous wingers they began to create more chances and they began to grow in confidence. Bethesda ,in all fairness did create a few worrying moments as they continued with their long ball over the top but it wasn't really anything that was going to create any significant threat, and the back four of mynydd dealt with every threat with relative ease. The game was due a goal, and with mynydd growing in confidence it wasn't long before they took the lead as a corner was delivered into the box and was met with David Hayes rising highest to guide his header into the bottom corner of the net.1-0 half time.
Mynydd came out the second half determined to show exactly what sort of team we had and did so in style. An early penalty awarded as Liam Owen and Jamie Williams linked up well for Liam Owen to be brought down in the box. Up stepped David Hayes and calmly place his penalty to make it 2-0. This gave Mynydd the breathing space they needed and this clearly knocked the wind out of Bethesda. With Mynydd hwo getting a hold of the ball and dominating possession and creating chances it was only a matter of time before a third goal came. Bethesda had a few threatening moments going forward but were unable to make them count as the Mynydd team were sniffing out any attacks. Mynydd then went on to adding a third on 70 minutes as Jamie Williams scored from close range after some good football from the midfield to the strikers. That still wasn't enough for Mynydd and on 75 minutes it was 4-0 as David Hayes completed his hatrick from CB with another headed goal from a corner. This all but killed the game off and Mynydd continued to dominate possession until the final whistle.
Full time result 4-0 to Mynydd reserves.
This win was a long time coming ,and with the quality throughout the squad will be hoping to continue this form from now on. Great win for the lads and great performance by every single player involved.
All the best to Bethesda reserves for the season.
