A look ahead to Cray's final home game of the season as Tilbury visit Hayes Lane.

Tomorrow sees the last home game of the season as the Wands need to win to ensure safety from relegation and achieve the Great Escape. TIlbury are the visitors to Hayes Lane with a 3.00 pm ko.

Following today's results Cray know that a win would be enough to ensure survival with one game to go at Dereham Town next Saturday. Victories for Barkingside and Romford mean Cray still need three points to push them to safety. Redbridge however were beaten today which means they cannot catch Cray. The Wands are currently on an incredible eight game winning streak which has taken Tommy Warrilow's side from 23rd place and before the 17th March, fourteen points behind the teams above them up to 19th as of today with 46 points.

Cray's performances during this run have been excellent and a joy to watch. Four confident away wins including one at second placed Harlow Town coupled with four successive home victory have also seen Cray's goal difference cut to a respectable -14 and as such is very much an extra point when it comes to the final reckoning. Cray's performance on Tuesday against Waltham Abbey was a very professional display with great goals scored at good times and a great deal of patience was needed to break through. The speed of Warren Whitely and Tom Bolarinwa on the wings and the midfield runs of Chris Piper have brought a lot of joy and a new dimension to Cray's game. Defensively the Wands have been superb with all the back line performing solidly as well a very promising goalkeeper, Luke Colquhoun between the sticks. Up front Alex Teniola and Adrian Stone are looking sharp and Cesc Fakinos is having a stellar end of season.

A similar effort may be needed tomorrow against a Tilbury side who are currently 14th in the table on 57 points and have been in no real danger of being sucked into the relegation battle and will be tough opponents tomorrow. The least said the better about our last meeting with TIlbury on 8th November. Let's just say we lost 2-0 and leave it at that.

This will be the first time we have played Tilbury in a home league game since the opening game of the 1958-59 London League Senior Section. That game on 23rd August 1958 was won 2-1 by Cray with goals by McCarthy and Talbot. A similar result will do nicely.

After the game tomorrow there will be player of the year presentations in the bar so anyone who wishes to stay along for those awards please feel free to do so.

It's been a good weekend so far for Hayes Lane clubs with Bromley gaining promotion to the Conference today. Let's see if Cray can make it a Hayes Lane double and secure another season of Ryman League football for 2015-16.
