The postponement of Saturday's match against Lewes because of a waterlogged pitch was a disappointment. But it did give me an opportunity to get the squad together for additional training where all the lads put in a good shift.
The session at GOALS in Bexleyheath provided us with a boost on two fronts: Azza trained and is in contention for a recall tonight, and Longie, who would have been doubtful for the match against Lewes, had treatment and is fit for tonight’s game against Canvey Island. So, for the first time in a long while, we can select a team from a fully fit squad.
Canvey are a quality side who deservedly sit in the play-offs. They will provide us with a big test tonight but after watching them against Met Police on Saturday, I'm confident we can get a positive result.
Our London Cup game against AFC Wimbledon was an absolute cracker. [Editors note: to view the match report click here
The win has put us through to a semi final against Kingstonian, so another trip to Kingsmeadow Stadium is on the cards. Lets hope we can get revenge for our defeat at their hands last month.
Enjoy the game tonight.
