Tough afternoon for Development squad . With the match switched to the Cumberland , Crewe started at a much better tempo, and style to the previous game .This was exactly what the management team had asked for , and for 35 minutes we played some of the best football we have seen this season. However we couldn't convert the number of half chances we created , and despite having Runcorn ( undefeated this season ) on the back foot failed to push our advantage home. We then conceded and it seemed to hit our self belief , whilst Runcorn visibly grew in confidence. At half time we felt we were still in the game, and started the second half brightly ,and for 20 minutes matched Runcorn. We then conceded a second after 65 minutes and had a complete breakdown conceding 3 more goals in quick succession as Runcorn pushed home their advantage . The only bright spot was a penalty save by Charlotte , and the afternoon was made worse when Abbey suffered a bad head injury and need the Ambulance service to help her recover . Overall some really good period of play , but ultimately a game to forget. Best wishes to Abbey for a speedy recovery
