Development squad visited league newcomers Chester FC looking to continue to build on recent results. However two late withdrawals from the squad left us with a bare 11 to face a team that drew with league pace setters Stockport HNR the previous week. Both teams started the game confidently, but it was Josie who was causing the opposition defence the most trouble getting in a number of decent crosses . It was from one of these crosses that caused panic in the home defence , and led to an own goal to put us 1 up. The game was still tight, and following a free kick , Chester equalised , and started to boss the game. Charlotte tipped over a long range free kick, and we went into half time at 1-1. Second half followed a similar pattern, very even , with Josie again creating a number of chances, which we were struggling to put away.On 65 minutes we conceded a second , but kept in the game , with Tasha and Alex battling away in midfield looking to make openings for Josie . Tash equalised on 75 minutes following a corner , and both sides were now going for the winner , in a very competitive but sporting manner. With three minutes left Chester broke away but a combination of a fantastic save by Charlotte, a last ditch block by Chloe, and a clearance off the line by Abbey kept the score at 2-2. Some very tired legs at the end of the match , but again a tremendous team performance.
