An absolute classic encounter saw both teams putting their bodies on the line for the entire 60 minutes.
Crigg started the game the stronger and piled pressure on the West Bowling line but just failed to break down the massive Bowling team. West bowling then capitalised on a Crigg mistake to score against the run of play with a good individual effort. Crigg hit straight back with a superb move from the scrum which saw centre Zak White carve his way through the Bowling defence and sprint 30 metres to cross the white wash. Kieran Smith tagged on the 2 points to level the scores.
The big Bowling forwards rolled down field to lay the platform for a score wide which edged them in front 6 -10 at half time.
Superb defence and more bone crunching tackles dominated the second half and the smaller crigg lads continually hit above their weight. The score remained 6 – 10 up until the last few minutes when Bowling secured victory with a drop goal and a penalty on the final whistle.
The coaches would like to thank the players for their efforts this season in what has been a fantastic experience and seen massive improvements from everyone.
With only the Yorkshire Cup final left to play let’s end it on a special note.
Good Luck to you all With Your Exams In the next Couple Of weeks.
