Cropredy got back to winning ways against Launton in the OSL Premier Division on Saturday. On the back of two cup defeats the latter being Oxfordshire Senior Cup at the hands of North Leigh midweek it was an important win.

The home side went ahead early on after winger Chay Buckingham cut inside from the left beating the Launton right back before being taken down in the box, Dan Reeves stepped up and slotted his penalty straight down the middle. It was soon 2-0, a great move down the right hand side saw the ball drop to the impressive Buckingham at the back post which was controlled well and then slotted past the hapless Launton keeper. Launton upped the tempo as they looked to claw themselves back into the game, the away side pressed forward into the Cropredy half, keeper Jordan Reynolds made some good saves to keep it at 2-0 before an error from him gifted Launton a goal just before half time. Reynolds was caught on the ball squandering possession and gifting Launton's Michael Sofroniou an easy finish from 6 yards.

After the break both sides enjoyed good levels of possession without creating too many chances. But in the 65th minute striker Luc Thornton broke clear of the Launton defence before curling a beautiful shot from 25 yards via the post to regain the home sides 2 goal advantage. Launton once again pushed forward searching for a route back into the game, some great saves from Reynolds and wasteful finishing from both sides meant the game ended 3-1. A hard fought win for the home side against a much improved Launton side.

Cropredy Reserves continued their unbeaten start to life in OSL Division two after a 3-2 win against Chinnor Development. In form Ryan Carter bagged another 2 and winger Tom Goddard also scored to make it 3 wins from 3.
