Who Needs Super League
Cobras keep East scoreless as they inflict first defeat of the season on the home team.
Fantastic, Amazing, Brilliant, Superb.
Just some of the words that came from both touchlines at the end of a titanic battle at Leigh East. Both sets of supporters were treated to a fantastic game of rugby league with some ground shaking hits and some excellent pieces of running rugby. The first half ended scoreless with both teams testing the others defence but unable to break through. A second half that continued as the first had finished neither side prepared to give an inch. With concerted pressure on the home teams line Beddall charged over ,managing to ground the ball under pressure from 3 defenders, after soaking up more pressure a fine kick from Little resulted in a mistake from the Leigh team and great hands along the line allowed Barlow to score in the corner. With the lead now 10 points Crosfields continued to defend well and when the home team did manage to break the line a great covering tackle from Beddall denied the home team a score. A huge ripple of applause greated both teams at the final whistle and how they deserved it. A fantastic advert for both amateur and junior rugby league, with great credit going to both teams.
MOM as chosen by Leigh East coach was Beddall, with the Cobras supporters deciding that the entire crosfields team were worthy of the award.
