Ainsley Procter RIP

It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that Ainsley Procter, the Honorary Life President of Crosfields JFC has passed away.

Ainsley was one of the 'founding fathers' of Crosfields JFC, helping to coach his grandson Dominic in the first Under 7 Crosfields team of 1998 and staying long after his grandson had moved on to things outside of football. He hung up his coaching boots in 2009, well into his 70s, having worked with the now Under 13s from 5-11. He was awarded the title of Life President in 2006. Some of you will know that Ainsley has been battling cancer for the past 12 months or so. Unfortunately Ainsley lost his battle last Wednesday and passed away in the Hospice.

Ainsley's funeral is being held on Friday 16th September at 11.30am at Our
Lady's Church, Mayfield Avenue in Widnes. Please come along on Friday if you can, to give Ainsley a good send off. Ainsley leaves behind his wife Patricia, daughter Kath and grandsons Dominic and Matthew. Our thoughts are with Ainsley's family at this sad time - he was an inspiration and will be greatly missed.

The Crosfields JFC Committee will discuss a fitting tribute to Ainsley's memory.
