Please be considerate and use the parking available within the Alderbrook Recreation Ground at all times.
Please think bus.
The Town Council have received a complaint from a local resident following a recent game played at the Community Stadium. Apparently, cars were parked on the grass verges along Alderbrook Cottages and on the road as well.
Not only did it cause damage to the grass verges, it also meant that a bus driver on his route had to use the grass verge to get by the cars parked on the Alderbrook Cottages road, thus causing even more damage.
The Town Council are aware there is an existing problem with people parking their cars on the grass verges even when there is no football match at the Alderbrook and the Community Stadium and whilst we cannot be sure that those parked on the grass verges were all here for the football, we can ask that anyone who is coming to the football, to park within the confines of the Alderbrook Recreation Ground and the Community Stadium.
No one wants it to be the norm and acceptable for cars to be parked on the Alderbrook Cottages road and the verge so please make sure you use the ample parking the club have already and be mindful of the impact inconsiderate parking has on the residents who live near to the ground and to the other road users going about their daily business.
You can all help this situation by arranging to arrive in one car with friends rather than arriving individually, use public transport or a taxi if possible and if you don't live too far away, it's quite a pleasant walk.
The club would appreciate your help regarding this matter.
