Overnight rain did us no favours.
With no time for the pitch to dry out and having to take into account the time Deal Town would need to leave, an early decision by the match referee was needed.
Having consulted with him, he agreed with our opinion that the pitch had too much standing water on it and with it still raining it was not going to improve enough prior to kick-off.
Therefore, he made the sensible decision to postpone today's game and the League Fixture Secretary will arrange it for a later date and of course, we still have our away fixture at Deal Town to be arranged from earlier in the season.
That postponement was due to a cup fixture they had and I'm sure both clubs hope that these games will be re-arranged for a spare Saturday rather than a mid-week date.
