Having already played a match against the Cobras, coming away with an unlucky defeat, it was all to play for against the Mavericks in the Seconds last game of the season. Dragons 2 were depending on the Seconds winning in order for them to finish above the Mavericks in the WKL.
With a stellar performance from Hannah Brown, earning MVP, and a hat-trick from Jonquil Nash, the Seconds were able to secure a lead and hold onto it to claim the victory! Other goals came from Pat Merton, Dave Haddock and a penalty from James Wilcox.
A few players played particularly well: Alec Care showing masses of improvements from earlier in the season; Ellie George who hadn't played in months looked like she'd never the left the court; and Jessica Matthews looked like she'd been playing longer than eight months!
This win was an excellent way to round off the season, and the seconds can now look forward to the summer tournaments and the Gala day where the coach will be looking for players to move up to the First next year!
