In this first match in the “War Of The Roses” competition Eagles took on the higher divison side Waterhead.
In an edgy encounter littered with penalties from the start. An arm wrestle saw both teams have advantages without building on them it was a break away solo effort by Dean Standish
that opened the scoring for the Eagles. The home side made good yards with the forwards working hard giving Chris Whittle
the platform to go over in the corner following some great handling and went into the break with a 6pt lead.
Improved discipline in the second half saw Eagles begin to take control of the game, only conceding points when down to 12 men for a technical offence. Well worked tries came from Ian Pirrie
& Jamie Foster
to seal an Eagles victory
