Ballymoney Utd 1 Culmore 2

Matthew Merrigan grabs a late winner for Culmore in Ballymoney.

Culmore came away with all 3 points despite a strong breeze, sloping pitch and a referee who was a bit one sided. To be fair to both sides the strong breeze didn't help either team and it really was a game of two halves. After 15 minutes, Ballymoney were given a freekick right on the edge of the 18 yard box and they went a goal in front when they scored direct from the free kick. To their credit Culmore dug deep to keep the score at one nil until half time. With the wind in their favour Culmore attacked from the kick off although Ballymoney were always dangerous on the counter. Culmore drew level after 20 minutes when Dylan Beslin headed home from a great corner by Matthew Merrigan. Both sides pushed for the winner and it was the away side who took all 3 points when striker Matthew Merrigan blasted home from close range after a great corner by Darren Logue. This was a great result for the lads and best for Culmore were Cahir McLaughlin, Darren Logue and Ciaran Duffy.
