Prior to the game with Holy Cross Crusaders U18, Cumnock Girls U15 team started a great day in the club with a friendly between Cumnock and Carrick vs Stewartry on a beautifully sunny day with a large crowd at the side of the pitch.
From the beginning of game, the girls started by going through lots of passing phases. Rachel Shankland used her excellent speed to score 4 tries by sprinting down wing with the tacklers not being able to stop her.
Brownyn McSteveney got the next try when the ball was passed wide for Brownyn to break tackles and score in the corner. Rebecca Graham also got on the score sheet twice for the Cumnock/Carrick side and running through the Stewartry tackles after the whole team used some very quick passing to go down for the two tries in the second half.
To cap a great display Bryony Cutherbertson ran from her own 22 near the end of the game to score a long range try.
All girls enjoyed the game and started off a great day at Cumnock RFC. We especially wish to thank Carrick and Stewartry in joining us Saturday to make it a great day.
