Season 2 for Cumnock Micros

2012/13 will be the second season of Micro Rugby at Cumnock RFC. Last year was an amazing success with more than 30 boys and girls coming along to join in. We're sticking with £5 month subs and introduce a £25 family membership in preference to the registration payment of last year. We also have new playing strips - generously sponsored by Barr & MacMillan Veterinary Surgeons, Mauchline - and have a full schedule of training, games and social events. Whenever possible we will put out 2 teams per fixture (where the opposition team has sufficient numbers to do so too). Training will usually continue at Broomfield(or inside at Catrine Games Hall) for those not involved in matches that day.

All new players will be made very welcome. If any parents would like to get involved in helping out with coaching let me know - no experience is needed and free coach-training sessions are available. There are also opportunities for parents to join in a baking and tea/coffee rota.

Any boy or girl currently in Primary 1 - 3 is eligible to join in to train and play competitive non-contact touch-rugby against other local teams, home and away. Younger pre-school children (from 4 years old) are very welcome to come along and participate in training but cannot take part in competitive games.

Micro Rugby offers a great opportunity to introduce young children to the sport through non-contact rugby-based skills and games, having lots of fun within a family friendly community focussed Club.

All sessions supervised by SRU qualified coaches and held in a friendly, welcoming and safe environment.
