Cumnock Minis at Marr
Cumnock P7 Report
By Alan Montgomery
Cumnock vs Marr
Cumnock P7 squad stepped onto a rain soaked Marr pitch on Sunday and played an excellent team from Marr. Cumnock were on the back-foot, straight from the off. Marr’s forwards were in excellent form and burst through the centre for the first try.
Before the Cumnock boys knew it, Marr added a further 2 tries.
At half time Cumnock Coach Billy Ramsey gave the boys a few pointers for the second half, it certainly worked as straight from the off a surging run from Owen Young resulted in a try.
New players Regan, Josh and Kieran Owens had excellent debuts.
Coach Billy Ramsey, was very pleased with the effort of the boys and can see a bright future for them.
Training is on at Cumnock Academy Astroturf for P6/7 on Wednesday between 7-8pm. New players always welcome.

P5 team was Thomas Adrain, Daniel Anderson, Luke Donald, Andrew Dunlop, Kerr Robson, Reece Roberts and Lewis Young.
We arrived at Marr rugby ground on a very cold and wet day. Thomas took a long first drive to unfortunately be hit by a wall of Marr players, he was quick to pop the ball back so Lewis could secure the first try of many. Reece quickly scored from the tap and again followed by another try from Lewis. Great tackles were shown, pushing Marr back constantly. Kerr was quick at retrieving the ball after a strong tackle by Thomas securing a good try. Andrew was fast with the tackles and quick with turning over the ball. Lewis managed another long run and try. Marr were quick on to the Cumnock players forcing them to drive and pass strong for the full game. Thomas stole the ball, driving through Marr's team from his own half scoring a try. Lewis scored again from good dummy passing and soon to follow was "lightening" Luke who flew up the full length of the park landing a great try. Daniel, found his footing in this game with some really good tackles and a great try as he slid across the line. An amazing run by Thomas across the far side of the park, and fabulous pass to Lewis just as half of Marr's team were on Thomas enabling Lewis to run the ball over the line. The last try was scored by Kerr, this was a long drive up the park as Marr had just previously managed to drive Cumnock back and score. It seemed a constant tackle and drive, the team made a final push resulting in a final score Marr 7 - Cumnock 11. One of the parents praised the boys and commented on how well they are playing as a good strong team and it's showing with the constant wins they are gaining.
Cumnock P4 Report

The P4 team on Sunday were Hamilton, Ross, Jasmine, Liam, Billy, Luke, Logan and Nathan.
Cumnock P4's arrived at Marr with a newly assembled team who were eager to get a game under their belt, despite the weather.
The first of two games saw three try's for Cumnock courtesy of Hamilton, Jasmine and Liam with all players making good runs and putting in some fierce tackles whilst holding a strong defensive line. Unfortunately Hamilton picked up an injury whilst delivering an awesome tackle and had to leave the game. In the second half Cumnock struggled to maintain the momentum shown in the early stages of the game and conceded to a more experienced Marr.
Our second game saw a depleted Cumnock fight hard against a Marr side who had an endless supply of fresh legs, but none the less gave their all till the final whistle with some inspired tackling from Nathan and Logan with Luke and Ross making some great runs enabling Billy to take a try in the final minute.
Coaches were really impressed by the performances of all players especially those playing for the first time.
Cumnock P4/5 training from this Wednesday is indoors at Catrine Games Hall from 7-8pm.
