Cumnock minis vs East Kilbride and Kilmarnock
Primary 7 Report by Alan Montgomery
Cumnock 1 East Kilbride 5
Cumnock started very sluggishly and their opponents East Kilbride took full advantage. The boys didn’t have their game heads on and were beaten soundly.
Cumnock 4 East Kilbride 0
After an ear bashing from Coach Billy Ramsay attitudes changed for the return match. Outstanding play from Andy Houston resulted in a gritty first try in the corner. The team all of a sudden grew in confidence with Jamie Drummond in barnstorming action, brushing off tackle after tackle to score Cumnock 2nd try. Further tries from Andy Houston and Jamie Kennedy put the gloss on a fantastic team performance.
Cumnock 9 Kilmarnock 0
With the now full of confidence tries were plentiful. Outstanding displays from everyone in the team, tries were spread amongst all the boys, Jamie Kennedy flew up the wing for probably the best try of the game. Again Andy Houston and Jamie Drummond were instrumental in most of the good play. Coach Billy Ramsey was impressed with the skill and commitment of all the boys and is looking forward to the rest of the season.

P5 team today were, Thomas Adrain, Luke Donald, Andrew Dunlop, Kai Johnston, Ross Pryce, and Lewis Young.
Game today was against East Kilbride who presented with a good strong team. The start was delayed and the teams were cold but soon warmed up on the park. From the tap Cumnock did some superb passing and Luke Donald managed to break free with a fast, first try. East Kilbride were putting up a strong defence but Lewis Young did some great footwork up the park to score another try. First half was 2-2. Cumnock were warmed up and raring to go for the second half with Lewis managing a further 3 tries. Ross managed a good drive up the park and so did Andy and Kai, plenty of exceptional tackles were noted. From the second pass managing to storm through East Kilbrides defence, Thomas Adrain scored, finishing the game at a healthy lead for Cumnock. Final score Cumnock 6 - East Kilbride 4.

The P4's travelled to Irvine and came up against East Kilbride and Kilmarnock teams. Cumnock took on East Kilbride in the first game and straight from the whistle it was clear that Cumnock were well fired up for the match. The Cumnock line was quick to pressurise their opponents and this was a significant factor that gave the team a solid foundation that allowed them to sustain the pressure on East Kilbride. Right throughout the team there was a marked improvement in tackling, running and passing that led to Cumnock going over the line on a number of occasions with a variety of scorers.
In the second game Cumnock faced a team from Kilmarnock made up of mainly P5's. Regardless, Cumnock continued with their great form from the first game and managed to maintain the pressure on the Kilmarnock line. Their was some strong, brave tackles made by Cumnock against a physical and quick side, this again offered the opportunity to break through the Kilmarnock line and score on a number of occasions. With the pick of the bunch been the last of the day from Lori, she went over the line following some great running that included dodging and riding a number of tackles. Ross, Hamilton and Nathan were the other scorers on the day.
Overall, a much improved performance from the whole team and hopefully one that will increase confidence and motivation throughtout all the players.
The team consisted of Jasmine Scott, Lori & Hamilton Walsh, Nathan Conway, Luke Milligan, Billy Dalzell and Ross McMenemy
