And the season ahead

Senior pre-season training is already up and running every Tuesday & Thursday 19.00-20.30.
All senior players (or any rugby player who fancies a challenge) should now be making an effort to get back in action and attend these sessions or at the very least make their apologies for each session through the normal channels or contact Stevie to make their intentions for the season known.

As we move towards the new season there are plenty of reasons for optimism.

Training will be conducted under the watchful eye of Head Coach Stevie Edwards, ably assisted by those senior players who have recently attained their UKCC level 2 qualification. As well as drawing on Stevie’s experience we have some very talented and knowledgeable players who are extremely enthusiastic and highly committed. This coaching structure at senior level will be envied by many clubs and one that should stand the club in good stead for the foreseeable future.

We have a strong player base at U16 and 18 levels and just about every age grade downwards. The mini/micro sections are thriving, we are also well catered for in terms of coaches throughout the club and there will most certainly be a conveyor belt of talent feeding into the senior section for many years to come. The club has superb behind the scenes volunteers and add to this the tireless efforts of the club DO Harry Reilly and his staff who do such sterling work throughout the community.

This season will be slightly disrupted due to work commencing on the new school but we won't allow this to affect our play. It's worth the little pain to be handed a superb rugby facility. The new school itself will be a constant source of new players.

So as you can see there is massive potential for advancement of the club, if you want to be part of it dust off your boots and get down to training.
