Upon signing for the club, Thompson was delighted to be at the Thunder "I spoke to afew clubs at the end of last season, and when Chris Taylor (Dandenong Thunder head coach) rang it was hard to say no; I know quite afew of the players here aswell as how big the club is; who has always been a tough opposition, boasting great supporters to play in front of."
With Dandenong losing it's defensive midfielder Archie Tomic to Hume City over the preseason, the Thunder needed midfield steel and have found it in Thompson "I am now playing more of a defensive midfielder as in the past I did play as a box to box attacking midfielder, but with the limited supply of defensive midfielders coaches are playing me in that role now a-days."
The 2009 VPL Gold Medallsit added "I'm relishing the oppurtunity to play alongside a whole new team as I've never played with them. I hope we can gel and get some results and see the Thunder back on top as they were till the mid way point of last season."
Thompson is targetting ultimate success with the club and hopes to develop some of the younger kids at the club, "With the squad we have I expect finals at a minimum. Once CT (Chris Taylor) selects his final squad I'd like to think there is enough quality in this playing group to challenge for the title."
With the season not too far away, Thompson is calling out all Thunder fans to get behind the club, "I look forward to playing in front of you all and hope you can all turnout and show your support. There's no doubt the team responds better when their playing in front of you all. You're widely recognised as the most passionate in the league and it's gonna feel great to be playing in front of you all rather than normally having you on my back."
The club would like to welcome Ross to the club and hopes he has a successful year with us in 2012.
