200+ Children take part in the Darlington Schools Tag Rugby Cluster Finals which was played at the Arena.

During the last couple of weeks, the Mowden Community Team has witnessed some fantastic Rugby competition at the Arena. Over three days, the Arena played host to the Darlington Schools Tag Rugby cluster finals with over 200 children in years 5 and 6 taking part. The Mowden Community Team refereed each competition, with the top two teams from each cluster going through to the Darlington finals. The finals took place on Tuesday 21st October at the Arena, with the following schools qualifying for the final; Mowden Primary, St Augustine’s, Reid Street, Hurworth, Heighington and Mount Pleasant. There was some fantastic skills and amazing tries on display for all teams. The winners and runners up – Hurworth Primary School and Mowden Junior School will now go on to represent Darlington in the Tees Valley Tag Rugby finals on November 6th at Middlesbrough College.

The Mowden community team would like to thank all the teams that participated and wish Hurworth Primary School and Mowden Junior School all the very best in the finals.
