Mowden Park are back at the Northern Echo Arena on Saturday for Doddie'5 Day, as they take on Birmingham Moseley in Round 20 of the National One season.
Formed in 1873 as Havelock Football Club before a year later renaming as Birmingham Moseley, Saturday's visitors will be a tough test for Mowden Park. They have had several Internationals including England captain James Byrne, the first player to top 100 points (England 13 caps, British Isles, 4 Caps) and Scottish Flanker Ian Smith (25 caps, 1992-1997).
This season is Moseley's third consecutive campaign in National One after being relegated from the Championship. The midlands side currently sit in 14th spot in the league table, having won 6 of their 19 fixtures so far. 5 of those wins have come at home, with their sole road win coming at Esher in November. Last weekend saw the midland's side fall to a narrow 10-14 loss at home to Old Elthamians, having lead at the half.
James Williams leads Moseley's points scoring with 220 so far this season, including 9 tries which see him lead the try scoring stakes ahead of Adam Caves and Sam Pointon with 6 a piece.
