HUNT THE HAGGIS TOUR 2012 by Kendra Corney
Well what a pleasure being part of our very first Rugby Tour we had 24 boys, 3 coaches, 12 adults and 1 bus driver AKA “Les” and his amazing bus!
After days of worrying about “ifs and buts” we were off to a grand start ALL parents and boys lined up waiting for the bus (tick one) then the bus turns up (tick two) all loaded, off we go.
Then disaster struck we had one boy without his boots , OMG is this the start of things to come!!
After diverting a parent who was following the coach by car (thank you Adam) we were sorted and on our way. This was the only incident we had with the boys and missing kit all weekend!!
Yes we had the usual problems of boys “thinking” their kit was missing, leaving their belonging in other rooms and basically just being boys!!
The boys were a credit not only to our club but to each and every parent. We were asked on several occasions by fellow guests where we were from and what was the occasion?
Gods knows why; you’d think we all had “funny skirts” on or something!!! Each and every person who enquired said what a good bunch of well behaved boys they were (luckily they weren’t on floor 3).
Sadly I can’t say the same think about the parents; thirsty ladies who couldn’t wait till after game to pop the corks, dads who thought they could beat the girls at “our sporting activities” until “Annie the Arm Wrestler” was unleashed, which we won hands down!!! We have one parent who has now taken the trophy from Wolfy for the loosing the most amount of kit and one who is trying to obtain a bank loan to replace the Medical Bag with pain killers!!!
Like me I’m sure that all parents had a great time away.
A huge thanks must go to our Coaches:
The Welsh Dragon, “Tom” I mean Taff, Nic – O – L ARSE (Nic), An- D- X- factooor!!! and not forgetting our coaches CONSULTANT “SHAZZA- POLE- BRAITHWAITE”.
We also had a special appearance from a local judge and his “CLERK” (I think that is what he was shouting!!) who made an awful mess in reception if anyone knows their whereabouts we have the cleaning bill to pass on.
A great weekend was had by all; good company, lots of laughs and some great friendships made.
