TSC U13s sponsored by Tekmar, played host to Northallerton Town in the first round of the TJFA League Cup at Blackwell Meadows.
took the goalie gloves and was called into action early on with some fine saves. TSC opened the scoring when a good cross from the right by Sam Lee Shields
found Dom Mckenzie who netted the first of his goals. Northallerton fired a quick reply with a well taken equaliser before Dom Mckenzie took control with two further goals to claim a first half hat trick. Luke Taylor
and Callum Webster dictated the football from central midfield and Josh Vart and Sam Lee Shields
were making good runs to keep the Northallerton defenders busy. Both sides added another goal apiece before the interval with James Wood
registering for TSC before a good Northallerton move earned them their second of the game.
The second half saw more good play from TSC with Dom McKenzie in particular, having an outstanding game, notching his fourth and fifth of the game in the early stages of the half. Northallerton, to their credit, never gave up playing some good football in the right spirit despite being four goals behind. The visitor's reward came wth their third goal of the game to reduce the deficit and only good defensive wirk from Charlie Campbell
, Ross Boddy
and Connah Moss
prevented further attempts on the TSC goal. TSC finished the stronger of the two sides and as the visitors tired, TSC netted a further three times courtesy of Luke Taylor
, James Wood
and Connah Moss
to make the final score 9-3.
A good performance but work needs to be done on team possession. Good to see some positive finishing in front of goal. Well Done !
