320 Dartfordians attended the 90th Anniversary Dinner and made sure that the Club anniversary was celebrated in a great way.

The scene was set, the marquee looked splendid and the guests got ready for a great evening. Many made use of the photographer to remember their evening, then your Chairman introduced the special guests Jean-Pierre and Fabianne Cazenave and Arthur and Margret Jones....Chris Burman had flown in from San Diego, Ron and Viv Marsh had come over from France and Paul and Enid Govier had travelled down from Yorkshire....Guests were served up some excellent food and were making the most of the bars. Your Chairman greeted all and thanks Jean-Pierre and Fabianne for their support for Sheila and Greg Wright after Greg suffered a heart attack whilst on Vets tour. Arthur Jones was also given a round of applause for all of his work for Dartfordians dating back to the 1940s/50s....Thanks were given to Clive, Lorraine and Sandra for their work in organising the night and just as your Chairman was about to get into the auction the entertainment began with the waiters throwing a wobbly and then getting everyone up and singing away. A good start - then the auction. The silent auction was going on in the background with some great pieces on offer for those who were interested, with both the silent and normal auction looking to raise money for the Matt Hampson Charity, Saracens Sports Foundation and Dartfordians RFC. Dinner with Ben Kay was first and the lucky winners will now be invited to spend the night with Ben asking him about the dropped ball in the 2003 World Cup final when he was about 3 yards from the Aussies line. Next, a dancing lesson from Strictly's Andrew Cuerden, some Legends of Rugby signed shirts and a 4 1/2 litre bottle of scotch, kindly donated by Ross Philpotts (who then won it back in the auction).....Many put £10 into an envelope, with £1400 going to the club and then the following cash winners, George Burke £100 and a photo session (supplied by Anna Wagstaff-Hall : thanks Anna), £300 was won by Jean-Pierre and Fabianne and £500 was won by Joe Bowman....Well done to all and thanks to all those who put money in the envelopes....Auction over, the dancing began and carried on until 0100 in the morning.....Thanks to all those who attended and I hope that you all had a great night - any feedback is very welcome....
