After a tough first game against Ashford we came back strong and battled in our second game and with great support and passing secured a valuable win against the visiting 'Old Aliens'!!
After losing another close fought game to TJ's, the kids once again came back strong and played what we thought would be our last game of the day and upset the hosts Blackheath.
With the other results going our way we found ourselves worthy competitors in the Plate final against Southend.
The kids only had a short time to finish their ice-creams and get back on the pitch to play their final 12 minutes of rugby for the day.
They started as they meant to go on. Hard tackles, great rucking and passing to the wingers........it wasn't long before we were one nil up and continued to maintain composure throughout the game.
With injuries, left, right and centre the game continued at a fast pace with the boys relentlessly keeping the pressure on the opposition and were rewarded with a fantastic try in the late part of the second half. Finishing with a resounding 3-1 win, it was time to add to our silverware collection for the season.
Foxbury Plate Runners Up and now the Plate Winners at a tougher Blackheath Festival..........we couldn't ask for a better start to the season!
