Well ladies and gents the season is upon us, the nets have been resurfaced, the kit shop is on line and the covers are being used, and are tested.
As many of you are already aware we are running 3 senior teams on both Saturdays and Sundays, this has been done so that we can get as many of the older colts blooded in to the senior teams as possible. The Saturday 3rds is a new addition, Terry Phillips will be running this team and I am sure that it will be a success. Anyone wishing to be considered for any of the senior teams needs to get in contact with the captains of the various teams, all of whom can be found on the website.
I would urge all supporter and players alike to register on the website as you will then get weekly updates on social events, results and match reports for the games that we get to play (weather permitting)
As I have mentioned above we have been working hard over the winter to get the facilities up to scratch for the start of the season, we have had the nets relayed with new netting for the cage, we have purchased roll on roll off covers, which will hopefully reduce the number of games cancelled due to rain. The kit shop is now up and running on line and can be found via the web site http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dartfordianscricketclub/ and click on the “shop” in the tool bar. We have gone for Canterbury kit this year and are very pleased to be associated with a number of local businesses who have very kindly sponsored the club, contact for both of these companies can be found on the website. You may also be aware of our association with the Jack Petchey Foundation, The Jack Petchey Foundation supports a number of youth organisations and Dartfordians cricket have been working with the Foundation closely over the last year. The selection is limited at present but new ranges will be added in the near future. There is also an option for players to have their initials under the club logo at no extra cost.
All that is left for me to say is a very warm welcome to all new colts, parents and members and I look forward to seeing you at the club through the season.
Good luck and pray for good weather.
