Dartmouth score 9 tries in Development fixture

Dartmouth sent out a strong development side to face a Totnes XV after our 1st team quarter final match was cancelled by Ilfracombe. First half tries by Dave Champion, Ricky Seymour, Gary Rooney(2), Ben Peters and Xavier Picot saw The Darts take a 7-42 lead at half time. Fly Half Luke Chase on target with all 6 conversions.

The second half saw Andy Williams take to the field once again when second row Alex Parrott went of with a shoulder injury and The Darts were temporarily reduced to 14 men for a while as Dave Champion needed treatment. The Darts still managed to score three more tries through Ricky Seymour(2) and Gary Rooney with both players securing hat tricks. Luke Chase managed one more conversion to leave the score at 12-59.

The game was called to a finish 6 minutes early as Xavier Picot suffered a nasty injury which turned out to be a few broken ribs which will keep him out of any remaining cup games that Dartmouth have.

Thanks to Totnes for hosting the fixture and we move on now to a Semi Final Devon Junior Cup match at home this Saturday against South Molton RFC from Devon 1. KO 14.30.

We wish Xav all the best and a speedy recovery.
