Over 30 volunteers attended the Rugby Force weekend to offer their help.

On Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June, volunteers from all sections of the club came down to support the Natwest Rugby Force day. The initiative is essentially a “DIY” weekend where members of the club and the wider community turn up to complete the “odd jobs” that need to be done to keep the club running smoothly. An added bonus was Hertfordshire Rugby Development Officer, Mel Liley, turning up to help out with some of the painting.

Just a few of the many activities that were completed over the weekend were:

  • Painting of the storage containers
  • Removing the scoreboard from the old 1XV pitch and erecting it on the new 1XV pitch
  • Building of a shed to store the scrum machine
  • Staining of the clubhouse
  • Cutting all the hedges in the car park and 1XV pitch
  • Dismantling the old cricket nets
  • Clearance of the memorial stone area

Thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time and came down to the club to help complete these tasks. There were over 35 people who gave up their time throughout the weekend. The club cannot run without the help of its volunteers and it was great to see so many people tuning up to pitch in!
