In a very difficult game, the Saxons had to battle in the fog to beat Blisworth. Despite creating plenty of chances, Daventry failed to test the opposing goalkeeper in the first half and with some strong defensive displays were unlucky to go in 0-0 at half time.
The Blisworth goalkeeper made some excellent saves to keep the Saxons out in the second half, but the team continued to defend well and play some good football.
With only a few minutes left, the ball landed at George Price’s feet and after a touch smashed the ball in from the edge of the box to seal the points.
The team battled and held out for the win on a tricky day for football.
