Season Tickets are now on sale. Just visit www.dtfc.co.uk and enter the club shop to order yours now online!
This is a fantastic offer saving over 50% on normal entry prices so please support the team and the club and get your ticket so you do not miss any of next seasons action!
Hungry for the football to start??
As a thank you for supporting the club, a free carvery voucher will be delivered with every adult season ticket ordered before the 1st July 2012.
I see that the charge for a season ticket for next year is £99.00, with no suggestion of reduction for senior citizens, students etc.
I would like to point out that last season (as a senior citizen) I paid £40.00, so an increase to £99.00 shows an 150% increase on last season. Perhaps you are not aware that the nice Mr Osborn increased our pensions by 5.2% in April, so I was expecting any increase to be in line with that . . . not 150% more!
Also, please note, this time last year, we had just finished a very successful season, having just missed promotion, but having reached the play-offs. Whereas this season saw us barely avoiding relegation and on the field some pretty pathetic performances from our 40+ squad of players.
I am sending this email on behalf of all senior citizens who have followed the team through this pretty dire season . . . are you not aware there is a recession on? . . . and we are 'all in this together'.
I will, of course, be purchasing a ticket, as I see as a 'sweetener' there is an offer of a 'free carvery voucher for one' if I get my ticket before July 1st.
So I had better get it quick, as it looks like it may be the only meal I will be able to afford next winter, after buying my season ticket!!
Give me a chance! :-) .... If you look closely you will see its an ADULT Season Ticket. I am trying to add the Concessions and Child ones. We have always offered concessions and always will??? Thanks for your comments though as always!
OK point taken, but perhaps a 'tag line' saying 'Senior and Junior Tickets details to follow' would have explained this.
Anyway, it did give me the opportunity to put the figure of 5.2% in your mind when you do get round to sorting out senior and junior tickets!!
May I take this opportunity of wishing you, the club and committee the best of luck for the coming season.
Its ok, its prompted me to finish it quick as if someone had ordered the wrong one it would of given me a headache!
All sorted now so spread the word! ... and before you ask the voucher does apply to concessions brought before the end of the month so does sort of make up for your 5.2% :-)
Come On The Town!!
Will there be any discount for previous season ticket holders, also, what is new gate price going to be.....
I do need to balance the books so no further discounts are planned given the fantastic value the season ticket already attracts. However, I can confirm that more is planned for the season to reward holders with regular special offers and deals to ensure those that go that little extra to support the club are rewarded!
Gate prices are to be confirmed but I can inform people there is certainly no reduction intended. Likely to be a small increase. Will advise on the site, once finalised.
Thanks
I appreciate that we all have to balance the books, but like Lawrence, I cannot sustain a £40 increase, so with reluctance the Beau-Monts will be watching second half footy next season. Disappointed is understatement considering the past service and dedication to the club. Times are tough, but upping the price again will surely deter folks not increase gate receipts.......
Child - 95p per game
Adult - £4.71 per game
Conc - £2.36 per game
That is great value compared to other clubs in the league so I do not think its too unreasonable to be honest, but that is just my personal opinion.
If people want a club and team, they have to pay something otherwise the place would not be sustainable or we may as well make it free and just become a sunday side. The reason we have a season ticket unlike most clubs in the league (which is more than half price of normal gate entry) is to reward loyal fans and make it more affordable for the people of Daventry.
Thanks for info Matt, but as you chose to tell us the cost per match, we now have to work out this against how many league home games we have to arrive at the final cost figure.
With the comings and goings I am not sure how many teams we have in the league this season, i.e. what figure to multiply it by . . . wouldn't it be just as easy to say: Senior season tickets £50.00 or whatever it is? . . . some of us haven't got calculators, having spent our pensions on food, heating and other luxuries.
One other point about making the club sustainable. One way of getting more income is to have a steward on the gate near the changing rooms. This is left open after the teams have arrived, and it is used as an entry by all and sundrie.
While expecting wives and girlfriends to have free admission, from my position on the balcony (with the other coffin dodgers) I have seen a procession of brothers, sisters, fathers, grandparents and dozens of 'friends' enter this way.
In fact, last year at one of the big Cup ties I counted over 44 visitors come in this gate. I challenged a steward, to be told that it has to be used for wheel-chair access, but as there are double-gates by the turnstiles, surely this meets any 'health and safety' requirements.
If you count all the lost revenue from this source, we may have been able to afford to have got Dunkley back!
Anyway, up The Town . . . good luck to Mark and the boys (whoever they are).
It's just my stab at marketing and looking at sales seems to have done the trick thankfully but I get your point. The club shop tab shows the tickets and the actual cost so luckily no need for a calculator ... although I thought it was only my generation that had to rely on those :-)
Good observations about people dodging the gate. Would like to think a few more volunteers would come forward to help combat things like that but that is another area that lacks support unfortuantly. We could do with a good squad of 10 but getting them (and ensuring they are the right people) is easier said than done. I will have a spurt on advertising and see if any come forward.
Hopefully more people like yourselves can be vigilant on reporting this type of thing but I will tell Jason that someone needs to man that gate then lock it as soon as teams are in.
It's our club and we need to protect it so any observations / suggestions along these lines from anyone are always gratefully recieved!
Hi All
I have listed the teams for the Central Division below, this list was finalised at the Conference weekend
As for the Stewards on the Bottom gate these are issues we can hopefully address this season as I totally agree this is not acceptable.
I know not everybody will be happy with the price increase but unfortunately it cost's a hell of alot of finances to run a club at this level.
The Chairman has been more than generous but you have to understand that at some point the Club needs to stand on its own two feet.
I would also like to point out that most UCL Clubs now charge between £5.00 and £8.00 so at £4.71 per game it is still a bargain.
Cheers Nigel

Thanks for this Nigel, did they give any indication of when the fixtures are likely to be released?
These are hard times for many and I sympathise with some of the comments made but for less than a fiver a game i think its a reasonable price for football at this level and I shall be renewing my season ticket but,
It may have been worth offering;
a) a half season ticket (for those struggling to pay up front for the whole season)
b) a family ticket (two adults and up to two kids)
and
c) a small concession for those renewing their season tickets!
Daventry Town can ill afford to lose existing supporters and should do all it can to keep them, at the same time ensuring a steady stream of income is coming into the club ( some supporters buy food and drinks at the club too)
Discounts on the hire of the Social Club for existing Season Ticket holders would be welcome too. It may encourage supporters considering hiring a hall for a party to book the Daventry town Social Club rather than going elsewhere!
I recently hired the club for my sons 18th birthday party and was offered no discount despite being a supporter of the club and having a Daventry Town club season ticket!
Just a few of my thoughts.........
Can't believe you want to charge £9 a game when it only costs £15 to watch the cobblers
I am suprised the Cobblers charge that much!
I'm not surprised at the cost of the season tickets, i think Rugby were charging in the region of £120 last season which still makes ours reasonable, however i can see that if you are a family it is a large amount to find so why not introduce a monthly payment scheme which if spread over 9 months would be less than £3 a week?
