Daventry Town Assistant Manager Neil Champelovier is happy to be back home!

It must be good to be back at Daventry Town!

`Of course I'm delighted to be back at Daventry working alongside Darran once again, we never wanted to leave the first time!
It's a fantastic club to be at, it's like returning home!
I know the Fosters will make the club work and I am confident we can all be successful doing it.
It might take a little longer than Darran and I want as we both want success today!
Being realistic we know this season will be about adding a little stability to the club but I am very much looking forward to being a part of it!

The teams performances have been very pleasing since the heavy defeat at Coalville?

`We were expecting a reaction from the players after the disappointing performance at Coalville and the lads have more than delivered, which was pleasing.
We changed the starting formation which has made the team a lot more compact and harder to break down.
We have also demanded the team works much harder for each other and adopt a much tougher attitude.
Our most recent performances have certainly deserved the points gained.

Getting a squad together to start the season must have been very difficult?

`When Manager Darran Foster and I took over we only had two weeks in which to prepare for the new season and had just five players signed on, so we knew it was going to be a a tough start to the season.
We couldn`t have had four much tougher clubs to start with, Stafford Rangers, Coalville, Newcastle Town and Chasetown!
`We have produced some excellent performances which has been a pleasing start, especially as we were a little wary as to what to expect in this league.
Darran has worked 24/7 to get players in to the club and we have worked as hard in training to get across what we expect from the players.
Getting our first victory at Newcastle was a relief and we have been satisfied with the progress the lads have made in three weeks!

Neil pointed out that he and Darren are looking to build a team based on experience and youth, most of the squad are under 21 years old with a sprinkling of proven quality players such as former players Captain Jason Lee and Adam Confue.

`We are a young side but we needed that bit of experience and mental steel.
Darran and I have been working tirelessly to try and add quality to the squad but finding those players and getting them to sign so late on after pre-season has proved difficult.
Many players had already signed for other clubs whose respective leagues had already started when we took over
`We are happy with the lads we have managed to persuade to sign so far, there are a lot of good young players here at the club.
Some of the younger players will have a point to prove and we are hoping their hunger to succeed will benefit the club.
If the lads continue to perform like they have in recent matches then we will have more positive results than negative ones.
