Presidents Message
It is a great honour to have been elected to be President of this Club, having been closely associated with the Betteshanger Club earlier and fully in support of the amalgamation with Deal Wanderers in 2006.Deal and its immediate area is a 'special place', and our Rugby Club is entirely representative of the community. We are not a big town but this Club is a valuable asset to the population and by nurturing the talent and through the hard work of its members - active players, support staff and active supporters - it provides a valuable service.We 'punch above our weight' in our playing performance and do so with our local talent, not 'buying-in' players. Therefore the young aspirant Junior player can see that there is a genuine opportunity to achieve a First Team place. The fact that young Danny Herriot has graduated to the England Under 18 Team is testament to that chance. But it is in our ability to make The Club a pleasant and vibrant place to be and a 'springboard' for our local talent that we will achieve our aim.
