DEARNE VALLEY BULLDOGS ARLFC

Last Week our under 8's team played a big St Josephs team and won 48 points to 40.

Dearne Valley were at home and this was going to be a hard task as we played them earlier on in the year and got hammered by them. However, infront of a bumper crowd Dearne Valley Bulldogs showed just how much they have learnt this season we a fantastic win lead by Josh Sanderson, Ben Simpkins and Connor Mckay who all managed to score a few tries. The Man of the match award went to Ben Simpkins who never missed a tackle all game and had some great runs resulting in tries. Connor Mckay put in a great performance with four tries and some very important try saving tackles as he earnt himself the opposition Man of the Match. Mr dependable Josh Sanderson had a fantastic game as always as he matched their big players in the middle and run rings around their deffence what a star for the future he will become. Rowan pegg and Mitchell Light were the power houses of the team with their strong runs and Mitchell bagged himself a try for his efforts. Harry Dickinson put in a great effort and made some great tackles. Bailey and Taylor had a good effort for their first ever game of rugby league. Andrew Gill put some great runs in. Thomas Askew suprised me with a great try saving tackle as he put his body on the line and Jack Easton did a great job at hooker again.

What a great effort from our team again and all the hard work paid off.
We have now finished the season until September. However we will still be training at 5.45pm on Thursday nights until August and we will take a few weeks off as it is the 6 weeks holidays
