Last week our open age team beat a well drilled Siddal A team to earn a home tie against league rivals Bradford Victoria Rangers.

With such a high prize at stake and a home tie for the semi finals both teams knew they had to perform.
The first 15 minutes was a hard fought battle in the middle with great defensive displays from both teams.
Dearne Valley struck the first blow with a powerful run from second row forward Daz Williams to power in under the sticks.
5 minutes later Dearne Valley scored again with a neat little chip kick from stand off Jason Eagle over the defensive line to allow Daz Williams to pinch the ball off of the opposition full back to score another try under the sticks. Both tries were converted for a 12-0 lead.
Dearne Valley got sloppy then and started giving stupid penalties away which allowed Siddal to march up the field to apply pressure and eventually scored 3 unanswered tries which got them in the lead 14-12 at half time.
The second half was a different story as Dearne Valley knew that this could be the last game they play together this season. It spurred them on to produce a great team effort in defense and attack and managed to out enthuse the opposition to finish the game at 24-20 Dearne Valley Bulldogs.

This Saturday is the biggest game in Dearne Valley Bulldogs short
history.
We have played Victoria twice already this season and both games have been very close with Victoria taking the spoils at both meetings.
This is going to be the game of the season where Revenge is on the cards so the dogs will be ready to welcome Victoria in to the Dog House and show them the true meaning of Bulldog Gritt!!!!!!

Kick off is at 14:30 on Saturday at the Ings Lane field. So everyone please come down and cheer the Bulldogs to victory
