The U8’s recently took part in the Rhinos challenge at Butlins. The team played some excellent rugby against some top sides. We came 2nd overall with East Leeds winning the U8’s trophy. The boys gave it their all and were a credit to the club both on and off the pitch. The Dearne Valley Bulldogs name is slowly but surely being seen alongside some of the top clubs in Yorkshire. For the 2nd year on the trot a Dearne Valley Bulldogs player picked up the magic moment award. “The wrecking ball” Rowan Pegg was awarded the magic moment out of all the u8’s teams. The award was for scoring a try after picking up a gash to his head. He had blood all down his face but didn’t stop until he put the ball down to score his try (after been bandaged up he was eager to get back to help his team). This capped off a memorable weekend in style. We look forward to 2015 where we will try to go one better and bring the trophy home to the bulldogs.
