In what was probably the biggest game of the season, watched by the biggest crowd of the season, DVFC took the lead with a scrambled goal from Tom Levin.
AFP equalised and then took the lead before half time to take the score at the break to 2-1.
DVFC dominated the second half but it was AFP who went 3-1 up after a sloppy mistake in defence. Simon Asquith pulled a goal back and it looked like there was only going to be one winner from then on but controversial decisions from the Gay Referee cost the home side any chance of progressing. The home side had a goal disallowed for offside and also a clear cut penalty appeal ignored as it became evident that the Ref did not want Dearne to progress any further. AFP snathed a fourth as DV pressed to get back into the game.
Although it was disapointing to be knocked out of the cup, The management must take the positives of a fighting display from the players.
Adam Stead was again named MOM
