Mini & Midi Rugby - Mini Rugby at DRUFC
Mini/Midi rugby is for children (boys and girls) between the ages of 6 and 12 and provides alot of fun as well as a structured introduction to the core skills of the game, it's laws and ethics. Mini/Midi rugby follows the RFU Age Grade Regulations which introduces children to the complexities of Rugby in a planned and structured manner enabling them to learn at a steady pace in a safe environment.
All those having regular supervisory contact with children at the club are CRB checked for their suitability for working with children by the RFU and are encouraged to achieve RFU qualifications to enhance thier coaching provision.
Training takes place on Sunday mornings, from 10.00 am at the club and a regular programme of fixtures is arranged with other local clubs. On occassions we may travel further afield for tournaments or festivals.
At Deepings the emphasis is on enjoyment which, we believe, enhances the learning process for our young players.
Registration
All players of Rugby Union, whatever their age, must be registered with the RFU in order to regularly train and play rugby. This helps clubs and the RFU ensure that players are playing in their correct age groups and are covered by the RFU's insurance in case of accident or injury. or fill out the attached membership form and return it to your coach or the club bar.
