Delabole On The March
Easy victory for The Slaters
This was the second reverse fixture Delabole have played this season, this time owing to Grampounds pitch to be deemed unplayable. Once again Delaboles pitch passed a thorough pitch inspection before the match. The visitors were a place below The Slaters before the start of the game with games in hand.
The match kicked off a was pretty even at times with Delabole bossing the play for the majority of the other times, going close with a few efforts and not looking in danger of letting any goals in. Just after the half hour mark a Delabole corner swung in by Glen Burrell was met by Jordan Blanchard to open the scoring for The Slaters, 1-0. Then right before the halftime break Kallum Binney played the ball through to Luke King to slot home the second goal for Delabole, 2-0. Halftime.
The second half got underway a Grampound rarely threatened Ashley Morris and the rest of the defence only really managing a few shots on goal. The Slaters continued to dominate the play on an ever deteriorating pitch that was cutting up quite badly. In the 70th minute Mac Irwin crossed into the opposing box and was eventually met by a Grampound player to turn the ball into his own net, 3-0. Fultime
A solid performance and a clean sheet by The Slaters who took full control of this match and continued to push towards the top of the table and further consolidate their position in the top 3, plus to distance themselves from Grampound chasing them with still games in hand. Well done to The Slaters who keep marching on!
